We meet at:
St Stephen's Church Hall
189 Church Street
Newtown NSW Australia
The hall isn't hard to find, but for the out-of-town visitors, here is a helpful guide,
By Train:
Take the train to Newtown station.
As you leave the station, turn right onto King Street.
Walk for about 5 minutes, and turn left onto Church Street. The “Holy Sheet†bedding store is a visible landmark on the corner.
Walk past the supermarket carpark, over the road (Lennox Street), ignore the first (white) church on the corner. The club’s hall is on the left, opposite the corner of Mechanic Street. If you walk past the entrance to the second (stone) church, you have gone too far.
By Car:
Heading from the city, drive down City Road, which turns into King Street, Newtown. (This is not to be confused with the other King Street which is in the centre of the city.)
You are getting close when you get to the traffic lights where Missenden Road joins King Street. Keep going down King Street
The next set of lights is where Brown Street joins King Street. You are almost there. Get into the right-hand lane.
Turn right at the next set of lights, which is Church Street. The “Holy Sheet†bedding store is a visible landmark on the corner.
Drive past the first road on the left (Lennox Street), ignore the first (white) church on the corner, and look for the hall's carpark entrance a couple of doors down on the left.
The car-park in the hall's grounds is unlocked at 7:30pm, and there is usually plenty of parking there, and very little in the rest of Newtown!
When you leave, note that the nature of the local one-way road system means you must return back on to King Street to leave the area.
