There is very special performance coming up in a couple of weeks in Sydney, for one night only, called Sirkus Circus. You should see it. It will be the best juggling you have every seen in Australia. Full-stop. It won't just be juggling, though. It's a mixture of circus, cabaret and contemporary vaudeville.
Sirkus Circus
Sat 23rd January, 7pm.
The Factory Theatre, 105 Victoria Road, Marrickville NSW
Pre-sale: $30 full, $25 conc.
$5 more at the door.
Some of you may remember it from last year's sold-out show; it was extremely well received by both the jugglers and non-jugglers in the audience.
If you are coming to the Sydney Juggling Convention, tickets are free with the full convention pass. But buy some more tickets for your family and friends, this is a great opportunity for them to see why you love juggling so much. These are the best jugglers they will ever see! (Relax, they will still like your juggling more!)
Let me tell you about them.
If, like many, your favourite from last year was Tempei, the Japanese phenomenon with his flashy devil-stick and diabolo moves, you'll be please to hear he's back!
Also coming back is MCP. She has an unusual name, a Scottish accent, and a strong following of devoted fans (here in Australia and around the world) of her contact staff and other manipulations. Her acts draw you into to a little world where the props have lives of their own.
We all know and love Australian Ben Bryant, for his juggling and ladderwork, and he surprised us last year with his absurdist humour. I look forward to seeing what he has for us this year.
There is a lot of excitement about the special guest, Wes Peden, who is visiting from Stockholm - a juggler who seems to specialise in innovative new skills, that combine beauty, originality and an absurd level of technical difficulty.
The show will be hosted by Bob Carr - no, not that one! The Canadian Comedian! He's a lot of fun, and I look forward to seeing him again after his travels performing around the world.
If you know these performers, you'll understand why I have no hesitation in saying see it! This will be a five-star production for an excellent price.
I'm expecting this one to be sold-out, after the success of last year's show, and you save $5 each, so book ahead.
You can buy tickets from the theatre, or straight from our friends at Half-Baked.
