A bunch of us are going to go round to Julian’s house next week, dig up his rose gardens, and plant pictures of baby elephants on his hard drive.

Then we’re going to carve our names in his kitchen floor, just to make sure he knows we’re not his friends. Can’t be too careful!

Thank you for your feedback. I’ve learnt that I need to reword the punchline.

The punchline should fully dispel the impression that I plan to create an über Frankenfriend.

It should leave no doubt that my motivation (or at least that of the narrator, whoever that turns out to be) is entirely driven by the pleasure of the suffering of the old friends, not by the hope of the a new friend.
