He: Well, that’s a funny story, actually. It all started when I got some spam while I was away.<\/p>\n

She: It turns out some spammer forged my email address and sent spam out in my name!<\/p>\n

He: I wrote a funny little poem in my Out-Of-Office reply-<\/p>\n

She: It was hilarious! I laughed for ages when I read it-<\/p>\n

He: Because my Out-Of-Office reply went to her, not to the spammer, because her address was-<\/p>\n

She: Yes, I thought it was sooo funny, I showed it to some friends, and they said I should write to him and tell him so.<\/p>\n

He: I came back from a horrible business trip, and I was wading through my email, and there was this thoughtful little note, and her signature included a link to her web-site, so I checked out her blog. It was quite intriguing and beautifully written. <\/p>\n

She: He read through all the archives. He couldn’t get enough!<\/p>\n

He: Well, I read it for an hour or two.<\/p>\n

She: An hour? You read it for days! I went back and checked the server logs!<\/p>\n

He: Yeah, I guess. I must have been jetlagged.<\/p>\n

She: Not too jetlagged to post some thoughtful comments, though! And some pretty funny ones too.<\/p>\n

He: So, we emailed back and forth a couple of times.<\/p>\n

She: It was him who suggested we get together for a drink.<\/p>\n

He: And so that’s the story of how we met. And we owe it all to that spammer.<\/p>\n

No, this story isn’t true. But I wish it was. There’s a lot of spam being forged from somethinkodd.com at the moment; it is just my wishful thinking that some good could come from this nuisance.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
