Has it really been seven months since I promised free beer for the readers of this blog<\/a>? That’s embarrassing. I have some mitigating circumstances, but they are not important right now, and I am trying to remedy the situation.<\/p>\n

The 4th-year anniversary of OddThinking is on April 10, and that would be a fitting date. However, this year April 10 is a public holiday in Australia to celebrate the cruel and unusual capital punishment of a Middle-Eastern religious figure, on the occasion of the anniversary of a genocidal attack on the Egyptians<\/strike> Easter. I am heading to a sports event in another city that day to celebrate, so how do people feel about receiving free beer on April 9, 2009<\/strong>, the Thursday night before the long weekend? Please reply in the comments if that date is suitable or unsuitable.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My current venue of choice is The Australian Hotel<\/a>. Warning: The first night of a long weekend is likely to be a busy one in the city.<\/p>\n

For those whose memories don’t extend back seven months, this is get-together of Sydney-based OddThinking readers. I will be putting my Google AdSense profits on the bar, and there should be plenty for the blog to buy you a beer. The only rule is you need to read about it here on the blog to be invited. It would be cool to meet some readers who I have never met. It may be hard to find the right table in a busy pub when you don’t know what I look like.
