Sony announces HORSESTICK

(Las Vegas, CES) Sony Corporation today demonstrated working prototypes of the HORSESTICK® digital game controller at the Sony Booth at the 2006 CES.

Empowered by 6-axis tilt sensors and BlueTooth cordless technology, the first-of-a-kind controller targets two key markets: the 4-5 year-old children and the lucrative “girls-who-are-into-horses” demographic. Market analysts have applauded the move to win back these groups after recent losses in market share to Nintendo GameBath – a waterproof edition of the flagship Gameboy product.

One of the CES conference delegates, Ara Jensen (aged 5) tried out the controller on GeeGee Quest VIII: “I’m a cowboy! My sister is a poo-poo head!” he yelled as he tried to deliver a quick triangle + triangle + reign-pull + circle + head-dip combo. “Poo-poo head!” he confirmed.

Critics have questioned the introduction of a six-foot edition of the HORSESTICK® device, wondering whether there would be demand for an adult version. This has fuelled rumours of a deal with Rockstar Games to produce Grand Theft Auto: Lancaster County.

In related news, the US Patent and Trademarks Office have announced that they are working on an improved search engine, to enable bloggers to more quickly find trademark symbols from major US-Japanese corporations to incorporate into humourous image montages.
